Asda is to double its ‘click and collect’ service across London Tube Station car parks from six to 12 by extending its partnership with Transport for London (TfL). The retailer will offer same day collection from station car parks of Blackhorse Road, Hainault, Queensbury and Canon effective 9 September 2014, Fairlop effective 10 September 2014 and Hornchurch by end of the September 2014.
- Asda launched its Click and Collect service at six London Underground stations including East Finchley, Harrow and Wealdstone, High Barnet, Highgate, Stanmore and Epping in November 2013.
- Asda customers using the TfL service shopped twice as often as those using other Asda Click and Collect points. Shoppers using the London Underground station collection points spent 16% more per shop than customers using other Asda collection points in 2014.
- As part of its Five-Year strategy, aims to operate 1,000 new Click and Collect service points across the UK in addition to 400 identified locations, increasing its coverage from 53% to 70% of the UK population by 2018.
