Mercadona has launched an instore bakery service in all stores on 24th June 2014.
- The installation process began in April 2013, and has been progressively implemented in all supermarkets. The investment amounted to EUR 26 million and improved the production process of bread, pastries, sweet and savory products.
- The new concept has created a self-service and bulk packaged areas in all stores which has been adapted to regional tastes.
- This move is part of the company strategy to promote the new model of selling fresh products, with new sections for fish, meat, fruits and vegetables.
